November is recognized as National Family Caregiver Awareness month!
There are many events taking place throughout California in support of family caregivers. In a recent presentation from California Department of Aging, it was shared that there are over 7 million family caregivers in California and growing.
Let’s show our support for family caregivers by calling, visiting, sending a card, inviting them out for a well-deserved break, and/or offering to watch the care receiver so the family caregiver to provide respite to the family caregiver.
As a family caregiver myself, it is very comforting to know, I am not forgotten. For some, caregiving can become a very lonely journey as they see their life go by and many times can feel left out.
