Getting around town just became easier, greener, and more accessible for residents and visitors in Los Alamitos. In January 2026, the City of Los Alamitos launched Los Al Link, an innovative on-demand transportation service designed to improve mobility, support independence, and connect the community through affordable, environmentally friendly transportation. The service is operated by Circuit, a nationally recognized microtransit provider known for delivering electric, community-based transportation solutions. Los Al Link offers residents a convenient alternative to traditional transportation options. Using a simple mobile app or phone-based reservation system, riders can request a ride within the service area and be picked up by an all-electric vehicle. The program helps reduce traffic congestion, lowers emissions, and provides a practical transportation solution for seniors, students, families, and individuals who may not have access to a personal vehicle. One of the most exciting aspects of Los Al Link is its focus on accessibility and community connection.
Whether residents are heading to local businesses, parks, community events, shopping centers, or medical appointments, the service helps bridge transportation gaps while supporting local economic activity. The partnership between the City of Los Alamitos and Circuit reflects a growing trend among cities across the country that are embracing flexible, sustainable transportation models. Rather than relying solely on fixed-route transit systems, communities are exploring microtransit services that can respond directly to residents' needs. Beyond convenience, Los Al Link represents an investment in quality of life. Reliable transportation is closely linked to economic opportunity, healthcare access, social engagement, and overall well-being. Programs like Los Al Link make it easier for residents to remain connected to the people, places, and services that matter most. As Los Alamitos continues to grow and evolve, innovative solutions such as Los Al Link demonstrate how local government and private-sector partners can work together to create a more connected, sustainable, and accessible community for everyone.
Hot Off the Press: Los Al Link will be free to all starting on June 16, 2026!
