- CCGG joined forces with the California Senior Legislature and Assemblywoman Patty Berg to sponsor AB 2543 The California Geriatric and Gerontology Workforce Expansion Act which was vetoed by the Governor in Spring 2008. There are plans to re-introduce similar legislation.

AB 2114 (Beall) requires updating the measure of economic health and cost of living figures to more accurately reflect actual costs, utilizing the Elder Index. AB 2435 (B. A Summary of the New Changes in the Health Care Acts Provided by SCAN
On March 23, 2010, President Obama signed into law the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (H.R. 3590, P.L. 111-148). Following closely on its heels was the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010 (H.R. 4872), which makes changes to the Patient Protection ad Affordable Care Act.
