- CCGG joined forces with the California Senior Legislature and Assemblywoman Patty Berg to sponsor AB 2543 The California Geriatric and Gerontology Workforce Expansion Act which was vetoed by the Governor in Spring 2008. There are plans to re-introduce similar legislation.

On March 23, 2010, President Obama signed into law the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (H.R. 3590, P.L. 111-148).
