In recognition of outstanding achievement during the course
of a student’s formal education in gerontology or geriatrics

The Betty And James E. Birren Emerging Leadership Award
In recognition of outstanding achievements during the early stages
of a career that promotes the advancement of gerontology and geriatrics
as a field of study in California

The Betty And James E. Birren Senior Scholar Award
In recognition of outstanding achievements over the course of a career
that promotes the advancement of gerontology and geriatrics as a field of study in California

Lifetime Achievement Award
In recognition of outstanding contributions on the part of a nonacademic
to forward the CCGG agenda to enhance the well being of California’s elders

Note: Nominations for the Peterson and Birren awards must be made in writing by a member in good standing of CCGG.
The Lifetime Achievement award will be made at the discretion of the CCGG Board of Directors.
